Armaan Malik sang the song Bum Bum Bole for the movie Taare Zameen Par in 2007 at the young age of 10. Since then, he has ventured into various music roles such as playback singing, independent singer-songwriting, and collaborations with different artists. His recent stints include performances with Ed Sheeran and Marshmello during their tours in India. During a recent trip to Bengaluru, Armaan expressed his belief in turning dreams into reality. He shared his journey as a singer, transitioning from a child singer to a Bollywood phase, and now harboring aspirations like winning a Grammy, performing at Madison Square Garden, and collaborating with renowned artists such as Charlie Puth, Zedd, and Justin Bieber. Armaan emphasized the importance of being prepared for different opportunities as an artist. Reflecting on the music scene from 2014 to 2018, he highlighted the shift towards prioritizing viral hits over quality songs, stressing that there is no fixed formula for creating a good piece of music. Armaan expressed concerns about the misuse of technology to replicate voices and emphasized the need for laws to safeguard artists' rights and maintain the authenticity of music.I find it both amusing and alarming that anyone can use my voice and texture to create a song without regulations in place. While AI technology can be useful, it is crucial to have laws that safeguard the rights of artists and prevent technology from compromising the authenticity of music. I strongly believe that traditional elements, such as real instruments and musicians, should always play a significant role in the music creation process. What is naturally organic should remain so. Collaborations are a fantastic way to unite different worlds, fans, and styles. When collaborating with another artist, it is vital to have a genuine appreciation for their work. Successful collaborations are rooted in mutual admiration and enthusiasm. I have been fortunate to collaborate with many artists I admire, including my dream collaboration with AR Rahman. It is incredible how one's dreams can manifest into reality. The current era is empowering for independent musicians, as talent showcased on the internet can capture the hearts of audiences and transform individuals into stars. The independent music scene in India is thriving. A playback singer is akin to a chameleon, adapting their vocal style to complement the on-screen persona of the actor they are singing for. It's fascinating to be able to morph vocally to match different characters and personalities on screen. Singing alongside Ed was truly a dream come true for me.Armaan Malik expressed how humble Ed Sheeran was when they performed together. Despite Ed’s worldwide fame, he remained very modest. It’s unusual to come across someone so successful who stays so connected to the ground. They had wonderful discussions about music, including Indian music, and Ed expressed his desire to work with more Indian artists. Their friendship grew strong, and Armaan now sees Ed as a brother.
